-screams in silence-

Pale, shadowed emotions, trapped deep within
Scratching at the shallow shell, pitting the glassy veneer
A touch not enough, the scent of lost breath
Stillness moves into the blood
Falling inward to still grief, else the anger break free

Motion a blur, comfort a disturbance
Pushing back the moment, take away the truth
Embracing the wounded, to ignore the wound

Underneath it scratches
Its tendrils as light as wings, its sting as sharp as bees
Poisoning the blood and numbing the heart
Dangerous is the passing, fragile as glass

They gather to tend and heal, swarming in their need
A desire to escape and hold in the violence
The need to rip and tear, to bloody the knuckles
To burn away the loss

Grief overpowers the senses, until that's all I can smell
Hide away, else it break free and destroy all the love left behind
So I sit in the shadows, nursing the numbness
And scream in silence
